The Water Birthday Party

"C" begged and begged me to hold a birthday party at our house that involved water... so we started planning and issued some invitations. At first only 2 families RSVP'd so I kept inviting more until we ended up with 25 kids in attendance, not counting the babies!
We played several different games. In this one we tape tissue paper to the kids' backs and made sure they all had some kind of squirting device. The point of the game was to be the last one with tissue paper. This was a great way to start getting in the water.

I also tie-dyed T-shirts for the kids and after I rinsed them (while they were still wet) I folded them neatly and stuck them in the freezer. Then at the party we pulled out the T-shirts, passed them out, and offered a prize to the kid who could get theirs on the fastest.
We also played "squash the sharks" with balloons that were painted with jaws and eyes. The only rule? Stay in the wading pool to pop yours!

We played some more games, had a water balloon fight, and the hit was the $5.00 Slip and slide. Here "C" is teaching her brother how to drink from it. I wish you could have seen how funny this was!

The cake was an absolute nightmare, and didn't turn out like they said it should, I had to make some serious time-consuming alterations, and ran out of time to finish it. These were the only pictures we got, it was cuter without all the candles!

"C" was so excited about all the neat presents she got, including an MP3 player.

She now goes around singing music at the top of her lungs everywhere we go. It's getting quite annoying...
Due to the move we never gave "R" his birthday cake, so we sang to him and gave it to him at the party. He even got a couple of gifts! He was way too tired to eat it so we put him down for a nap. Once he woke up and all the guests were gone he REALLY liked it!

Overall it was a wonderful day and I don't know if we will ever have such a successful party again. :)
